Hang Your Hammock

With only a few, simple tools, your hammock can be ready to enjoy in only minutes...

"5 1/2 feet above the ground and 10 feet apart"

A friend wants to hang her hammock indoors for the winter and was wondering what a "eye bolt" looked like. We don't sell them, but they are very inexpensive at stores like Fleet Farm and Menards. Using a pair of eye bolts is a quick and secure way to hang a hammock, both indoors or out. They are quite inexpensive.

When the location to hang a hammock is 10 feet from one side to the next, it is best to position the "eye bolts" 5 1/2 feet above the ground...higher up as the distance between the "eye bolts" increases. We have found that the "5 1/2 feet above the ground and 10 feet apart" rule of thumb works perfectly for those who chose to hang a hammock indoors or to build their own hammock stand using a swingset frame or any other means.

The Perfect Campsite...
Our hammocks were originally designed to be the ultimate camping accessory. By design, they shelter you from the bugs and the cold. Their shape allows your pillow and sleeping bag to stay put; they are perfect for spending the entire night outside under a star-filled sky. Use your hammock with a set of our Tree Huggers. Your hammock will make it to the top of the list when you're packing the car.

Hammocks Indoors...
Transform any room into your favorite room. Hanging a hammock indoors is actually quite simple. Eye bolts are widely available at home and hardware stores and are a safe and secure way to anchor a hammock to a wall. Corners of the room are very well suited to the addition of a hammock. With no wooden "spreader bars" to get in the way, our hammocks are compact enough to accent a room without taking over. Of course, you can always use a "Brazilian Style" hammock stand indoors.

A New Swingset...
Using an existing swingset frame as a hammock stand, it is easy to create a happy little environment. Hanging lengthwise, a swingset frame will allow you to hang two hammocks in perfect proximity to one another. No swingset frame? No problem. Home stores sell affordable kits to build your own. We prefer the kits that use 4"x4" treated lumber. Add some hanging plants and you've got a little slice of heaven, right in your yard.

Endless Possibilities...
You don't need trees to enjoy a hammock. With a little work and creativity, it is easy to put some sturdy posts into the ground and create a fun area in your yard or at the cabin. Having more than hammock in a given area creates a sociable and friendly atmosphere that will become the most sought after piece of real estate in your yard. For an enhanced experience, build your stand around a small firepit.
